In 1925 - despite her brothers' objections - Enid Justin founded Nocona Boot Company in a small building on Clay Street in downtown Nocona. She obtained a $5000 loan from a local banker and began with six employees. She was the company's first traveling salesman! The company factory operated in this location until 1947, when it had grown enough to warrant construction of a new, modern building with a state highway in front and the MKT Railroad behind it.

After the Boot Company moved, the building became the home of Hinds-Clark, a store selling tires, bicycles, appliances, etc.
